This new, privately owned Luxury Villa in Weligama Sri Lanka is set in its own gardens and it is located only 100 meters away from a beautiful beach in Weligama. This has house been designed taking into account comfort. This Villa is very spacious yet cozy. This house has been designed and built by a London-based Sri Lankan interior designer, looking to put roots down in Sri Lanka. The house is booked for exclusive use only and it also features a large 12 mt x 5 mt deep pool, a cabana, and yoga shala. The Villa is an ideal location to host international Yoga Retreats. However, the management can also call local professionals if you want to have an instructor-led practice or meditation in the gardens.

This colonial Vacation home near Weligama was built in 2017 by a British – Sri Lankan designer who has a passion for craftsmanship, antiques, and sustainable design. The four double bedrooms have been beautifully designed to deliver delicious pure, restful sleep via deeply comfortable handmade 4 poster beds and en-suite bathrooms with European hot power showers as standard. The colonial architecture seamlessly includes modern conveniences such as international sockets, Wifi, and efficient air conditioning. SHARED SPACES

Entering the house you will be greeted by the grand high ceilings enclosing a spectacular space, beautifully styled with hand-selected antiques and 1.8m specially commissioned chandeliers that enhance the dramatic sense of scale in the villa.

You can expect reliable, fast Wi-Fi, international plug sockets and ceiling fans in these spaces too. Gorgeous Jasmin scented sticks burn gently and waft through the high space transporting you back in time. We have made sure that every one of your senses comes alive when you stay with us.

Villa has trained the staff to offer you the best possible service, without any airs but with an attention to detail that gives you a sense of familiarity and being at home. Beer is served in chilled glasses, rooms are discretely cleaned and beds made daily and we can organise special occasion celebrations at the villa or at beautiful locations within easy walking or tuk tuk distance.

THE BEDROOMS

4 double bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms come with handmade 4-poster beds created by local craftsmen as standard. The rooms are designed for deep, dreamful sleep and have hand carved shutters that open out to our jungle garden, teaming with beautiful wildlife. Waking to the sound of the dawn chorus or watching the monkeys swing through the trees from the upper floor balconies connect you to nature in a very spiritual way.

Expect hot power showers and comfortable mattresses with the fluffiest pillows, clad in great linens. Air conditioning is in every room for extra hot days but many guests love the cooling breeze on their skin wafted from the ceiling fans instead. Fluffy towels and organic toiletries are in the rooms for your use during for your stay.

THE POOL

The pool is a hit with everybody of all ages – whether you want to practice your dives, swim at night or just cool your toes. Lying on your back, looking above you will see palm trees, blue skies and shy, curious monkeys. Poolside beds are a favourite spot to snooze beneath umbrellas or read your holiday fiction. Dreamily watching pretty dragonflies occasionally whir past can become an activity in itself.

Pool is 15m x 5m, it is long and deep. Children need to be supervised at all times by adults, our pool is open to the gardens and house and because we are a private location, there is no life guard on duty

MEAL SERVICES & STAFFING

The villa team of 3 permanent staff and a nightguard will look after you full time and you can enjoy discrete but attentive service. You can discuss meals with the manager so that your schedule and daily plans are accommodated as much as possible. Nothing is too much trouble and transport, excursions, and bookings can be made for you by your hosts or the villa team.

THE FOOD

Breakfast in included in the rates. A selection of Western and Sri Lankan dishes is available. This Villa is ideal for foodies and cooking lovers, as the management allows the guests to use the kitchen and cook their preferred meals. If you prefer to relax and not cook, an extra cost is applicable to hire a private chef/cook as of 2022. Private Sri Lankan cooking lessons are also available.

Guests can discuss their menu preferences directly with the chef/cook and pay for the ingredients (Groceries at cost) and transport for shopping. Read more about the Villa meals policy in Sri Lanka. The villa’s experienced private chef/cook will be pleased to prepare anything from the Western, Asian, vegetarian, and children’s menus, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements. The chef is on duty between 7 am – 10 pm.

Note: If you give the manager/Chef a float at the beginning of your stay, The Chef will shop and present receipts at check out with a balance or request a top-up during the stay if necessary.

LOCATION & BEACH

Cradled in an enclave by the coast of Weligama, with an auspicious Bodhi Tree above, it’s the kind of spot with a special feeling and uplifting energy. Some people have mused that it’s a wonder they haven’t built a temple here.

• Just 2.5 hours from Colombo by car, you can be whisked to us easily along a speedy new highway.

THE BEACH

The local Turtle Beach is 100 metres away and small and quiet so just paddling in the water here is perfect. You may well see one of the local villagers fishing, and do feel free to pop into the Weligama Sports Club to talk to them about private surf and PADI classes if you want to do this on our doorstep. Alternate teachers are available at a beach just 5 minutes away.

YOGA AND GARDENS

Wildlife regularly comes through the gardens and is a wonder to watch, we have been lucky enough to see Eagles, Kingfisher visit the pool every day and even watching the huge trees sway in the breeze is mesmerising . The yoga Shala is the perfect spot to work through sun salutations and stretches, or grab a comfortable seat and read during the day. As the day draws to a close, candle lit gin and tonics, colourful chats and snacks are usually held here while the sun sets and chef whips up the evening meal.

Security deposit: Upon arrival at the villa you may be required to pay a security deposit. The security deposit, if applicable, will be returned to you prior to departure or as agreed less any extra charges or costs for accidental damage to the property.

Check-in/out

• Usual Check-in after 2.00 pm and Check out – Before 11.00 am
• Late check-outs up to 6.00 pm may incur a half-day charge, after 6.00 pm a full day may be charged.
• Every effort will be made to accommodate other check-in/out times but this will depend on availability.
