“own private Aman – but better!” – Date of stay: December 2022
“We were a family group of 9 aged from our 50s to 15 who stayed at the villa for Christmas and New Year 22/23. We spent 15 nights there. The house and rooms themselves (both sleeping quarters and common areas) are stunning – as are the grounds, pool, massage cabana, koi pool, and other structures (outdoor eating space etc.) – architecturally very clean and Aman-like with tasteful neutral decor but some nice splashes of color and artwork. The house has its own private beach which extends beyond the property which was also incredibly beautiful (though riptides made it unsuitable for swimming but given the size and location of the pool that was not an issue) as are the grounds where peacocks run free and the birdlife is just breath-taking (bee-eaters, kingfisher, etc.). What makes the experience, beyond the natural and architectural beauty, however, is the outstanding, personal service that the villa team bring to every second of the stay. The managers who speak perfect English, worked with us in advance to book activities, outings, massage and yoga – all of which were excellent and ran like clockwork. Seneka who led the team was in communication in advance to sort out every detail and make recommendations re outings – as well as book these as well as all transfers to and from the house plus drivers for the various day trips we did. There are plenty of wonderful and diverse activities from bird watching on rafts at the reserve next door (just awe-inspiring, beautiful and meditative), to lunch in Galle, to a game drive at the Yala wildlife reserve, to temple visits. The food was fresh, clean, delicious and interesting. We never had a repeat lunch or dinner (except on on occasion by request) and the chef offered sophisticated and varied dishes at each meal. We had a mixture of Sri Lankan and other meals (Western, Asian inspired, etc.). One member of our party was gluten free with other allergies and reported an equally wonderful culinary experience with every need accommodated. On our penultimate night, chef even gave us a cooking class on a few of the Sri Lankan dishes we had particularly enjoyed. Our Christmas day lunch with local turkey (which chef had smoked and roasted), crisped pork belly and a myriad of delicious side dishes was the best I have every had. The team also prepared a spectacular New Year’s Eve dinner that was set up in a grove away from the house, torch lit and festooned with fairy lights that was a complete (and delightful) surprise. Finally, a comment on on the rest of the staff – they were so kind and attentive and on call 24/7. Return from a beach walk was greeted with chilled towel and a glass of chilled water; arak sours flavored with passionfruit mixed; yoga mats with fresh towels ready pre yoga instructor; constant vigilance meant that we did even have to think about hydration or any other need – and each and every staff member was so kind and charming and gentle -frankly, that alone made the holiday – true 5 star plus service. I’d highly recommend the Villa experience – this was one of the best (and most relaxing and inspiring) holidays, I’ve had and I believe our group would concur. We are all very well-traveled and have quite a bit of luxury holiday experience and this ranks right up there. Thank you so much team Villa – we will be back!”

“The villa is an incredible palatial house on the beach. To call it a villa does not do it justice. From the beauty, size and comfort of its main building and two accompanying garden villas to the stunning and absurdly long pool, manicured garden and glorious deserted beach, it provides a uniquely luxurious holiday location.
We, and another family, some 13 of us in total, spent Christmas 2020 at the villa. It made for a really special holiday. We wanted for nothing. Every wish was impeccably attended to by Senaka and his wonderful team. Every meal was carefully chosen, cooked to perfection and delicious (the tuna sashimi was particularly good). Our rooms were beautifully maintained (Bougainvillea petals were picked up almost before they had fallen). Every activity (trips to a local wildlife sanctuary, a nearby fishing port, to Galle and Colombo, and to the local town; a cricket match; the daily provision of massages) was organised with consummate and understated skill.” We were genuinely sad to depart. We can’t wait to return.

The villa was truly one of the best places I have stayed and I have travelled all over the world! The building is beautiful, the materials used are perfect, the ensuite bedrooms are comfortable and extremely clean. The pool is spectacular and large, brilliant for morning lengths. The living spaces offer everything you need from a place to chill out in away from the sun, to movies and games. But the two things that shone through were the impeccable service and delicious food. Saying we were looked after is an understatement…we felt positively spoilt! Thank You Senaka and your fabulous team, you made our stay one to remember!

Sublime villa with unparalleled service – Date of stay: July 2019
We stayed 7 nights at the villa with 2 other families and it was the perfect place for our group of 6 adults and 6 teens. The villa is absolutely stunning – the photos cannot do it justice. Every detail, big and small, has been carefully considered.
As beautiful as the villa is, what really lifted our experience to the next level was the unparalleled service from Senaka and all the villa team. The welcome was warm and genuine, the mix of local and western food prepared by the chefs was restaurant quality, varied, plentiful and always delicious, and our every need was anticipated – cold towels, drinks and chocolates in an esky ready for early morning tennis, afternoon tea by the pool, evening drinks in the upstairs bar area, a cooking demonstration by the chef, massages in the spa cabana, a friendly game of cricket with the staff, transfers to Galle with sandwiches packed for the trip … the list goes on. Tourism in Sri Lanka has been decimated by the Easter bombings, but we felt safe at all times (there is a guard patrolling the property around the clock) and are so glad we went. Book now – you won’t regret it.
