This Villa comes fully staffed with a chef, houseman, night watchman, and a gardener/ pool boy. A laundry lady can be available at request. The team will look after your every need during your stay. The Villa also has a lovely dog, Caramel, who guards the property while playing in the garden.

Villa Staff: Great care has been taken to recruit a friendly team who really care about the property. The housekeepers and chef, are on hand to ensure that stays here are restful and relaxing.

The villa’s skilled private chef will happily prepare a range of delicious meals from a suggested menu, as well as discuss special requests and dietary requirements (you pay only for ingredients & transport for shopping).
Your rooms will be made up by the housekeeper/maid, who will also make sure your needs are attended to so that you can relax and enjoy the perfect getaway.

THE FOOD

While many villas offer similar dining experiences, the villa considers themselves truly fortunate to boast a team of passionate, hard-working, and exceptionally talented individuals at the house. Their culinary expertise shines brightest through the exquisite dishes they curate.

Led by the esteemed Chef Ruwan, our team engages with you each morning to tailor a personalized meal plan for the day ahead (you can find reference to our menu guide in the footer at the very bottom of this page). Chef Ruwan takes pride in personally selecting the freshest ingredients from local markets (and you’re welcome to join in on the experience!). At the conclusion of your stay, or at any point earlier if preferred, you will receive itemized bills for the ingredients purchased, transparently priced at cost.

Breakfasts are thoughtfully included in the Villa cost (Lunches, Dinners and any other extras are not included in the rental Price), with the expertise of the marvellous chef, Ruwan, at your service. Renowned for his culinary prowess, Ruwan brings years of experience from his tenure in Qatar and French restaurants. His specialties include tantalizing rice & curry dishes and sumptuous seafood creations. From breakfast to lunch and dinner, Ruwan is dedicated to crafting memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Upon request, Ruwan can expertly prepare a wide array of Western and local dishes, ensuring each meal is tailored to your preferences. Guests can anticipate savoring the freshest fish and seafood sourced directly from the local market, or even better, from the fishermen who frequent our villa to showcase their ‘catch of the morning’.

Please note: Occasionally, individuals posing as fishermen may attempt to sell fish outside the villa’s gate. We kindly request our guests refrain from purchasing fish from these vendors, as they are not genuine fishermen.

Guests can discuss their menu preferences directly with the chef. Read more about the Villa meals policy in Sri Lanka. The Villa comes with an fabulous chef who is capable of western and local dishes.  Children’s menus can be discussed, as well as special requests and dietary requirements.

Ruwan (Chef) will keep track of what he buys with your funds. Please ask for detailed accounts if you are not paying for things directly yourself in order to avoid any misunderstanding.

Note: If you give the Manager/Chef a float at the beginning of your stay, The Chef will shop and present receipts at check out with a balance or request a top-up during the stay if necessary.

ALCOHOL

Feel free to bring your own alcohol for your stay. We recommend purchasing from duty-free shops upon arrival and retaining your receipts until checkout. As is common with many villas in Sri Lanka, The Villa does not hold a license to sell or serve alcohol to guests. However, there is a local wine shop in Galle, Samagi Wines, which offers a selection of wines and spirits, although it tends to be expensive and not of the highest quality.

Please be mindful of Sri Lanka’s alcohol policies. The chef, Ruwan, will store all alcohol in a designated fridge upstairs to ensure compliance. We kindly ask guests not to leave bottles unattended and, if you have a receipt for any purchases, to provide it to Ruwan for record-keeping purposes.

Additionally, please note that alcohol sales are prohibited on Poya Days (full moon days), so plan your purchases accordingly.

WHALES AND DOLPHINS

Departing from Mirissa, a scenic 40-minute journey from our location, the boat trips commence around 7 am and typically last 3 to 4 hours. Security deposit: Upon arrival at the villa you may be required to pay a security deposit. The security deposit, if applicable, will be returned to you prior to departure or as agreed less any extra charges or costs for accidental damage to the property.

• Usual Check-in after 2.00 pm and Check out – Before 11.00 am
• Late check-outs up to 6.00 pm may incur a half-day charge, after 6.00 pm a full day may be charged.
• Every effort will be made to accommodate other check-in/out times but this will depend on availability.

“I don’t usually visit the same place twice but this patch of paradise is now the only exception. I simply had to take my wife I married last year who hasn’t been, it truly is the most wonderful place, it’s like a private health and wellness spa; we felt like we were on our honeymoon and it’s incredibly quiet – I hope it stays this hidden for a long time, we had the beach pretty much all to ourselves and it is the most stunning beach; the sunsets are unlike any other I’ve seen as the golden hues spread over the horizon when the sun melts into the sea – bliss!

Our stay was guaranteed max comfort throughout by Ruan, Sanjeeva & team who cooked for us whatever we wanted each day & it was delicious, kept the place clean and helped us organise our days when we needed it. They were very discreet, take pride in what they do and have an infectious aura of chill. I met them last time I visited, 5 years ago, so I was very please to see them again, they’re clearly dedicated and know the place well.

There’s also so much on the doorstep from the villa,  from releasing baby turtles into the sea and swimming with adult turtles to antique shops and tea plantations higher up in the hills. Though it is quiet, you can walk about 20 minutes down the beach to some nice bars or surf. Thanks so much for creating this patch of paradise.”
