Breakfast and afternoon tea is included in all rates. For other meals, a chef is available to cook a la carte from daily changing set menus. Full board upgrades available in advance or you can pay as you go if you are planning to have some meals elsewhere. BBQs are popular options and often the best way to enjoy sampling some of the amazing fresh fish and seafood that’s found in abundance in this coastal locale. The villa doesn’t sell alcohol, so it is best if you bring a few bottles with you from the airport duty-free, or in Colombo as you pass through.

THE BEACH LOCATION

The Villa has direct access to the beach: there are little pathways leading directly to the beach with a double chair placed in amongst the greenery to make the most of the exceptional oceanic scenes; just perfect at the end of the day when the sun descends into a fiery mass into the sea.

This gorgeous retreat is hidden in the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Sri Lanka. Nearby is the picturesque Bentota beach and lagoon and you are only a short drive from the UNESCO heritage town of Galle that is most certainly worth a visit thanks to its preserved colonial architecture and proximity to stunning beaches at Unawatuna and Thalpe, Wijaya, and Midigama.

• Late check-outs up to 6.00 pm may incur a half day charge, after 6.00 pm a full day may be charged.
• Every effort will be made to accommodate other check-in/out times but will depend on availability.

“Hidden Gem” – Date of stay: October 2020 – From Scotland

Palm trees swaying, sitting in an immaculate garden with a manicured lawn, book in hand and being cooled by the ocean beeeze. Ah bliss. the Villa is a beautiful villa with the most amazing staff. 4 beautiful bedrooms, all with AC and fans. One I would call the garden suite as it’s surrounded by lovely plants. It also looks out to the pool. The bedrooms all have 2 pairs of flip flops and 2 sarongs along with 2 bath robes, spotlessly clean. Glass fronted dinning room with a lovely banquet table and bench.

The food is so delicious Sampath is a wonderful chef. The service and attention to detail is outstanding. Stanley, Ashen and Samiritha make sure of that. Also a wonderful sitting room with French doors leading out to the pool area. Plenty choice of reading material and games to keep you occupied. Would we go back again…. absolutely, in a heartbeat.”

“Great villa for 8 by the beach” – Date of stay: October 2020 – From Colombo, Sri Lanka

“We escaped Colombo this weekend and drove a quick hour south and were welcomed by the team from the Villa. Located just after Kalutaua and just before Bentota. As we walked into the villa the stress and strain of city life started to ebb away with the sound of the waves crashing up on to the beach. Welcome drinks and face cloths were offered as we had a guided tour around the villa.

The villa itself is of award-winning architectural design and has recently undergone a refresh. The tasteful choice of local furniture, pottery and lamps made from reclaimed wood has created a welcoming boutique feel. There is a wonderful dining room with glass doors that can be opened or closed depending on the weather and a long table and benches on which to enjoy the wonderful food prepared by the chef, Sampath. He really is a 5* chef and the chicken burgers, soups, seafood and meat BBQ were amazing and the desserts were to die for!

There is a cosy sitting room with a good choice of games and books, for those monsoon evenings. Then there are four bedrooms, one twin, two doubles and one suite. Plenty space for 8 eight adults. The rooms have had new bright new additions added such as funky sarongs, throws and cushions and all are ensuite with a walk in shower. The pool is lovely and long, fantastic for swimming off the additional calories you will eat at the meals. The garden is beautifully tended and a joy to look around to find the funky metal structures. Then at the end of the garden is a gate onto the beach. This is not a swimming beach but there are logs on which to sit on to watch the children play in the sand or the sunset with a cocktail.

The team, Stanley, Ashen and Sumithra look after your every need and their attention to detail is fantastic. The villa was constantly cleaned, coffee was bought in the morning, the pool furniture was moved quickly when the rain started and the table was beautifully laid for every meal. If you want a quick getaway that makes you feel relaxed and pampered this is a great villa and we highly recommend it. We are booking our return trip very soon.

“What an amazing villa! We fell in love with this place. The villa is situated right on the beach in a quiet area. There isn’t much to do around it but with this place, the pool and the beach why would you want to leave? It is a real relaxing stay.

Inside the villa is beautifully decorated with so much interesting furniture, books to read, TV to watch, lots of DVDs to pick from. Our room was so spacious and clean we fell in love with it. The staff are really nice and make you feel at home. They will do anything for you. We bought some shopping each day and the chef cooked us the most beautiful local food.

The villa is on the beach. We went out of season so didn’t use the beach but we can imagine in the summer how beautiful it is especially with the sunsets. A real luxury and relaxing place to stay, we highly recommend.”
