A sumptuous abode bedecked in pink and purple, this home style can best be described as Bold Contemporary Tropical! Much time and care has been spent in creating all the furniture and fittings on site and by hand, with local craftsmen. It’s a quirky, opulent experience living here, and unlike any other villa in Sri Lanka, so look at all the pictures and read all the blurb and if it still takes your fancy we are sure you will be impressed with the real thing. Made and offered with love from Giles, Ivan, Mala and Anthe and all those who helped contribute to the creation of this ‘Court of the Crimson King’!
The huge open to the sides main living space is very much a fair-weather hang out that on most days is a wonderful place to relax with the cool breeze from the valley below wafting through the room. For more privacy or in inclemental weather there are two further living spaces. One opposite the kids pool/jacuzzi which is great for lounging about and watching TV or playing board games. The other is air-conditioned and leads to its own private balcony overlooking the pool. It also contains a small library of books for guests to use.
After arriving at Villa you may never want to leave during your stay. From Anthony’s delicious cuisine to an evening game of table tennis or a soothing massage, there are numerous temptations to keep you in the villa apart from simply lounging by the pool and soaking in the luxurious environment. However for those more adventurous in nature we have listed a few nearby excursions below that you may wish to do during your stay.
TAKE A BIKE RIDE
Visit the local beaches or take a tour with IDLE BIKES. They can even come and meet you at the villa with bikes – it’s downhill all the way to the beach.
VISIT A NEARBY BEACH
The Villa is perfectly situated to access Sri Lanka’s finest south coast beaches from Galle to Habaraduwa. All in under 20 minutes and – better still – via small country lanes so you hardly ever have to navigate the busy Galle- Matara road. Gamini, our in house Tuk Tuk driver knows all the good beaches.
GALLE FORT
A stay at the Villa 99 would not be complete without at least one visit to the historical Fort of Galle. Wander around the ramparts, shop in one of the myriad of shopping lanes that crisscross the fort, or dine in one of the beautiful airy boutique hotels.
